Change in fund leadership
September 2025
The Workforce Futures Fund | Tahua Rāngaimahi Anamata is transitioning to a new Executive Officer following the resignation of Sue McCabe.
Board Chair Jane Wrightson said Sue had resigned to take up the role of Chief Executive at the Wellington Community Fund.
Jane said Sue’s resignation would take effect on October 31 and the Board had already started the process to find the successor.
The Board and Sue were focussed on a smooth handover to ensure knowledge of grantees, applicants and those who had been in contact to express interest in the February 2026 round was passed on.
Jane also acknowledged the capability and underpinning role of Administrator Ruth Harper, which will assist the transition.
“The board is delighted that Sue has secured this new opportunity but very sad that we are losing her. Sue has done an exceptional job in establishing the fund’s outreach and processes and we couldn’t have asked for a better inaugural executive officer”.
Jane said the Board appreciated Sue’s commitment and professionalism to supporting a handover to transition relationships.
The Board will update stakeholders once a new Executive Officer is appointed.
